I remember praying outside of an abortion clinic and watching a couple walk in to commit an abortion. I knew what they were going to do, so did they, but I couldn't do anything, except pray. 1st of Cross 4th of Elijah DEUT. 8:11-20 PHL. 1:27-2:11 MT. 4:12-5:16 When we look inward and at our loved ones who are broken and not seeking help, we feel like we can't do anything. We're helpless. 2 THE GOOD NEWS (continued from page 1) When we deal with addiction, whether our own addictions or our loved ones, we feel helpless. Whether it's drugs, alcohol, gambling, porn, or any number of vices, addicts and their loved ones feel helpless. So, what do we do? We seek help and give help! We bring the light of Jesus to those who sit in darkness. We heal wounds. We stop pretending that everything is ok. Jesus knew the kind of people he was dying for. He knew our brokenness and our addictions. He knew our sins and our helplessness. Jesus wants to redeem it all. Let him. We need to continue to spread awareness, humbly seek help when needed, and give all of it to the foot of the cross of the broken Jesus. Fr. Pierre Konja Prayer For Hope Heavenly father, I am your humble servant, I come before you today in need of hope. There are times when I feel helpless, there are times when I feel weak. I pray for hope. I need hope for a better future. I need hope for a better life. I need hope for love and kindness. Some say that the sky is at its darkest just before the light. I pray that this is true, for all seems dark. I need your light, Lord, in every way. I pray to be filled with your light from head to toe. To bask in your glory. To know that all is right in the world, as you have planned, and as you want it to be. Help me to walk in your light, and live my life in faith and glory. In your name I pray, Amen. )التكملة من الصفحة 1) ان سر الفصح هو المسيح قم ة تجلي سر هللا. هذا ما أشار اليه يسوع في العلي ة بقوله: "من رآني رأى اآلب" )يو 4132(. لقد أظهر المسيح في حياته وقيامته ان هللا محبة ورحمة لذلك الصليب هو الطريق الى القيامة )رسالة البابا يوحنا بولس الثاني:»في الرحمة اإللهية.(«هذا رجاؤنا في ظروفنا الصعبة والقاسية. لذا عيده اليوم هو دعوة لنسير مع المسيح على الطريق الذي يؤدي الى القيامة: "أنا الطريق" )يو 4132(. والعيد زمن الصالة والتأمل ومراجعة الذات في سبيل اهتداء جذري. انه زمن التعر ف أكثر على المسيح ب غي ة اتب اعه بأمانة. انه زمن الرجاء. ان المؤمن الحقيقي يتحول الى ما يؤمن به ألنه يعد ما يؤمن به أساس ا لمسيرته كلها. يأخذ من المسيح شيئا ويضيفه الى كيانه. فيتحول شيئا فشيئا الى صورته. هذا ما تعنيه الرسالة الى غالطية: "أنتم الذين اعتمدتم بالمسيح قد لبستم المسيح )غال 5:11(. إليماننا قوة الحب واإلبداع والنمو. والسؤال المطروح علينا اليوم هو: ما هو الطريق الذي يريده لنا الرب فنبني حياتنا على كلمته ووصاياه. لذلك يجب ان تكون عيوننا شاخصة نحو المستقبل. لنفسح المجال للروح ليوجهنا لكي نعمل أحسن ما عندنا من أجل حياة أفضل لنا وألخوتنا. ال ننسى ان الصليب في كنيستنا الكلدانية المشرقية هو صليب ممجد من دون "المصلوب" رمزا الى القيامة والقبر الفارغ وهذا يشحن رجاءنا في مسيرتنا االيمانية الحياتية اليومية. 2

The Church - People of God, Body of Christ, Temple of the Holy Spirit III. THE CHURCH IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT 798 The Holy Spirit is "the principle of every vital and truly saving action in each part of the Body." 247 He works in many ways to build up the whole Body in charity: 248 by God's Word "which is able to build you up"; 249 by Baptism, through which he forms Christ's Body; 250 by the sacraments, which give growth and healing to Christ's members; by "the grace of the apostles, which holds first place among his gifts"; 251 by the virtues, which make us act according to what is good; finally, by the many special graces (called "charisms"), by which he makes the faithful "fit and ready to undertake various tasks and offices for the renewal and building up of the Church." It is in this sense that discernment of charisms is always necessary. No charism is exempt from being referred and submitted to the Church's shepherds. "Their office [is] not indeed to extinguish the Spirit, but to test all things and hold fast to what is good," 254 so that all the diverse and complementary charisms work together "for the common good." 255 IN BRIEF 802 Christ Jesus "gave himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people of his own" (Titus 2:14). 803 "You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people" (1 Pet 2:9). 804 One enters into the People of God by faith and Baptism. "All men are called to belong to the new People of God" (LG 13), so that, in Christ, "men may form one family and one People of God" (AG 1). 805 The Church is the Body of Christ. Through the Spirit and his action in the sacraments, above all the Eucharist, Christ, who once was dead and is now risen, establishes the community of believers as his own Body. 806 In the unity of this Body, there is a diversity of members and functions. All members are linked to one another, especially to those who are suffering, to the poor and persecuted. Charisms 799 Whether extraordinary or simple and humble, charisms are graces of the Holy Spirit which directly or indirectly benefit the Church, ordered as they are to her building up, to the good of men, and to the needs of the world. 800 Charisms are to be accepted with gratitude by the person who receives them and by all members of the Church as well. They are a wonderfully rich grace for the apostolic vitality and for the holiness of the entire Body of Christ, provided they really are genuine gifts of the Holy Spirit and are used in full conformity with authentic promptings of this same Spirit, that is, in keeping with charity, the true measure of all charisms The Church is this Body of which Christ is the head: she lives from him, in him, and for him; he lives with her and in her. 808 The Church is the Bride of Christ: he loved her and handed himself over for her. He has purified her by his blood and made her the fruitful mother of all God's children. 809 The Church is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is the soul, as it were, of the Mystical Body, the source of its life, of its unity in diversity, and of the riches of its gifts and charisms. 810 "Hence the universal Church is seen to be 'a people brought into unity from the unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit'" 4
